Harvard square metro station | urban & component design studio

Boston, MA | 2012

Harvard Square in Boston is known for its high level of activity during political and social events. This project focuses on designing a new T-Stop and plaza installation which can create a dialogue with the public and the variety of events that take place there.

Component Design: The component for this project consists of planar panels made up of a honeycomb internal structure bound by structural steel framing. The exterior treatment is a mirrored glass allowing for light to enter in designated areas revealing the interior honeycomb structure. Other areas such as the existing newsstand were replaced with the same structure, however rear projection elements would be added for a modern twist on current event distribution.
